Stac, Buchanan Wharf

Stac is the final phase of the award-winning development creating a new neighbourhood with four buildings and significant public realm, including cycle lanes and landscaping, on the banks of the River Clyde.

The project brief was to align with the UKGBC's Advancing Net Zero principles and this EPC 'A' rated building is expected to achieve BREEAM 'Excellent' and NABERS 5 Star ratings.

Operational carbon targets were set at the outset of the project - which were subsequently bettered by the project team. This was achieved by ensuring that the building structure and façade were designed in an efficient manner, minimising the volume of material used and maximising the performance of the building envelope.

This was supplemented with the low carbon building materials and technology, including recycled steelwork, low carbon concrete, low energy building services installations and Photovoltaic panels.
