Godolphin & Latymer School
G&T advised Godolphin & Latymer on their three phase site redevelopment. Phase 1 involved refurbishment and extension of an existing building to provide new classroom accommodation.
Phase 2 involved the construction of a new music block which provides extensive modern music practice rooms and music performance suites. Phase 3 involved the sympathetic refurbishment and conversion of a Grade II Listed church to create a theatre, performance and assembly space providing 750 seats.
The project involved extensive substructure works to form a seating pit to enable theatre in the round and provide tiered seating. Much of the work is independent of the main structure thereby making it removable in the future. The final product provides state of the art modern facilities on a compact urban site which had considerable logistical issues.
