Exterior of London South data centre at night time

London South

This state-of-the-art data centre, initially designed for 30MW power capacity, was later increased to 40MW to support future technologies.

The project involved managing multiple complex workstreams, including site preparation, addressing archaeological concerns, working near a Listed building and coordinating delivery phases.

At Stage 3, G&T reassessed the procurement strategy and accelerated the substructure Phase 4 design to enable early works packages.  This was done by splitting enabling packages to clear the site and reduce risk ahead of the main contract.  Key to the project's success was tight design control and regular cost updates, ensuring stakeholders stayed informed of budget changes due to the enhanced design.

The result is a world-class data centre, delivered on schedule and within budget, on track for a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, reflecting its sustainability and high performance.
