Maybole Community Campus

The new Maybole Community Campus has replaced Carrick Academy, Cairn Primary School, Gardenrose Primary School and St Cuthbert's Primary School in South Ayrshire. Built on the site of the existing Carrick Academy, the new campus features inspiring learning environments with capacity for up to 1,370 children and young people.

The ‘super school’ provides secondary, primary and early years education, along with shared community swimming pool and all weather sports pitches. The project was commissioned under the first phase of the Scottish Government's £1bn schools investment programme.

The development was part funded through the Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP). Key criteria for LEIP projects is energy performance (measured against an energy target of 67/kWh/sqm/annum for core facilities in the building), digital learning, quality and economic growth. The project relied on strong collaboration across the team to agree a route map and deliver the ambitious LEIP parameters within budget.

The project follows a number of new build schools delivered by G&T for hubSW and South Ayrshire Council including Ayr Academy, Ayr Grammar, Marr College, Prestwick Educational Campus and Queen Margaret Academy.
