MMU Institute of Sport
Manchester Metropolitan University's Institute of Sport sets out to harness expertise across the world of sport to strengthen communities and build a healthier society, inspiring the next generation and pushing the limits of human performance.
The project involved the part reconstruction, extension and full refurbishment of the former 1960s Student Union building on Manchester's Knowledge Corridor to deliver high quality, flexible teaching and research spaces.
The sports science facility includes specialist equipment such as a full MRI suite to provide 3D imaging of anatomies as well as a full environmental suite which can replicate environments at high altitudes to aid research into enhanced performance training.
