G&T is part of the team aiming to deliver the first commercial building to be designed in line with UK Green Building Council's net zero carbon buildings framework and associated energy performance targets. There is not currently a building in the UK that has been verified in line with the UKGBC鈥檚 framework that is net zero in both construction and operation.

The 139,000 sq ft new build office development is set across two buildings with associated landscaping and is pioneering as the world鈥檚 first major commercial building to be designed and built using a platform approach to design for manufacture and assembly (P-DfMA).

The Forge is the recipient of government funding due to its innovative approach, including measures to reduce waste, embodied carbon and adopt a circular economy approach, which has the potential to act as a catalyst for change in the construction sector.
