G&T's work on the four-city block development includes hotel renovation, a new luxury condominium building and a cultural center.
Faena Hotel was redesigned by cinematic visionaries Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin and includes 169 guestrooms and 13 suites, a penthouse with private rooftop terrace, specialist Cabaret theatre and two restaurants. The hotel sits on the site of the Saxony Hotel, Miami's first luxury hotel built in 1948.
Faena House includes 45 luxury oceanfront condominiums with high tech features. Designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the building has panoramic views of Miami Beach.
The Faena Arts Center has been designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA whose design joins two conceptually simple geometric shapes (a cylinder and a cube) to create a highly complex and unique structure. The building will feature a 1,000 seat amphitheatre and separate event space, an underground mechanical parking garage, a glass bridge, an outdoor roof terrace and a number of artist in residence hotel rooms.
