London Wall Place
Project Spotlight
London Wall Place is taking shape. The project is being delivered by a joint venture between Brookfield Property Partners and Oxford Properties. The 500,000 sq ft scheme broke ground in 2013, transforming a land locked site in the City of London into a new destination at the heart of the capital. G&T is providing employer’s agent, cost management and project management services on the £220m city regeneration project. Read on to find out more СѼƵ this iconic London development…
Designed by MAKE architects this 500,000 sq ft project combines green spaces, rooftop gardens and Grade A offices to create a new place in the City within close proximity to Moorgate station with five tube lines, national rail and Crossrail from 2018. Over an acre of landscaped public realm is due to be unveiled, situated between two statement office buildings that will deliver quality office space suitable for financial, professional or business service tenants. 1 London Wall Place is a 310,00 sq ft 12-storey building pre let to Schroders Plc, while 2 London Wall Place is a 190,000 sq ft 16 storey tower with floors 12-16 pre-let to Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
“The striking faience and GRC façade will soon be visible over the hoardings which will bring the project to life for many. This challenging project with many third party considerations has been a tough yet rewarding scheme for all involved.”G&T Partner, Richard Applin
The reinstatement of the City of London highwalks through the development is just one of the iconic features of this expansive regeneration, manufactured from weathered steel and providing pedestrian access through the site above street level. This compliments the existing remains of both the Roman City Wall and St Alphage Church, which will be seamlessly incorporated into the public realm landscape.
“While the steelwork and cantilevered trusses have been the focus of construction over the past year and can clearly be seen on site, attention will begin to turn to the cladding and landscaping as the project nears completion in 2017 and will demonstrate what an extraordinary development the G&T team have helped us to achieve.”Vice President, Project Management, Brookfield Property Partners – Peter Clarke
