The Royal Marsden Chelsea Development will deliver a newly integrated environment for research, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for those living with, in remission from, and beyond cancer.

G&T has been appointed to provide Cost Management and Life Cycle Costing services for this net zero carbon development which will seek to significantly add to the current historic Royal Marsden Chelsea campus across two construction phases as well as an extensive enabling works package.  Occupying a complex site within a Conservation area, the new purpose-built centre will achieve BREEAM 'Excellent'.

"The appointment of the design team marks a major step forward in the hospital's plan to continue to be at the forefront of cutting-edge research advances to patients."

The design team also includes Stanton Williams (architects), Turner & Townsend (project manager and principal designer), Hoare Lea (engineers) and Ramboll (structural engineers).

Sunil Vyas, Director of Projects & Estates, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust said: "The appointment of the design team for the expansion and upgrade of our cancer research and treatment facility marks a major step forward in the hospital's plans to continue to be at the forefront of cutting-edge research advances to patients.  We need to grow and modernise in order to meet the increasing demand for our services and still have the space to conduct our practice-changing research whilst improving every part of the cancer experience for patients across the UK and around the world.  We look forward to working with Gardiner & Theobald and all other consultants who will help bring this vision to life".

G&T partner Katherine Clover said: "We are excited to continue our relationship with The Royal Marsden and be part of the team to deliver this significant development.  We are looking forward to ensuring the Trust is getting good value for money despite the challenges of the works, site and market conditions and finding ways to add value through World Class service delivery".
