Wapping Wharf Topping Out Ceremony

G&T took part in celebrations at Wapping Wharf as the structures for both buildings in Phase Two were completed. G&T’s Bristol team is providing Project Management services on this impressive waterfront development.

The development is one of the final waterfront regeneration projects in this area, providing a mix of public and private rental residential units and retail shell units together with basement car park and associated external works.

“It was a great day and a testament to the collaboration between all parties involved”

To mark the main structures of the building reaching completion the project team, including G&T, Muse, Umberslade and Balfour Beatty gathered to celebrate at a traditional ‘topping out’ ceremony. Attendees heard from the Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees СѼƵ the need for more housing in Bristol before signing their names on the steel structures and tightening the final bolt.

"The partners here behind Wapping Wharf are helping us solve one of Bristol's biggest challenges. Delivering homes is the key policy tool for us for social justice, health and education outcomes.”

The now complete superstructures, soon to become Abel Yard and Hope Quay, will house the next 256 homes at Wapping Wharf comprising of one, two and three bed apartments.

Of the 256 homes, 93 will be sold to Sovereign Housing Association, 49 of which will be for shared ownership and the rest for private rent. The remaining 172 apartments will be for private sale. After completion of these first 256 new homes, a further 81 affordable homes will be constructed.
