Westminster City Council has granted planning approval for the redevelopment of Sackville House, Piccadilly for Art-Invest Real Estate.

G&T is providing Project Management, Employers Agent and Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy services to bring this iconic Grade II Listed building back to life.

"Now planning approval has been granted, we look forward to delivering this exciting project."

The refurbished building will deliver 30,000 sq ft of new Grade A workspace with a new roof terrace providing panoramic views of London, amenity space and a retail offering across the ground floor.

The architect, Buckley Gray Yeoman, has repositioned the building by designing an extension to both the roof and rear alongside a comprehensive internal refurbishment, allowing the building’s fabric and heritage to be retained whilst delivering an exemplar commercial building back to the West End.

The refurbishment of the building itself provides the opportunity to improve embodied and operational carbon performance from choosing sustainable materials for the new elements to biodiversity gain from the roof terrace and terraces across four of the upper floors.

Luka Vukotic, Head of Development and Partner, Art-Invest Real Estate, said: “We are delighted to receive planning approval for our proposals to preserve and enhance Sackville House, an outstanding Grade II Listed building. To sensitively reposition and relaunch the building we wanted to focus on retaining and drawing on its historical significance, whilst achieving the highest ESG credentials and reconsidering the workspace to amenity space ratio. In doing so we’ve created a unique offer in the West End and set a new standard for what occupiers can expect from a workspace of this size.”

G&T partner, Ranjit Bhambra, said: "G&T is proud to be managing Art-Invest's redevelopment of Sackville House, which has just received Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent.  Buckley Gray Yeoman has designed sensitive and sustainable interventions that will breathe life into the existing Listed building.  The scheme will deliver enhanced Grade A office accommodation and exceptional end of trip facilities, amenity and reception space.  Now planning approval has been granted, we look forward to delivering this exciting project."
